Ok walk with me down memory lane. Remember as a kid when your church or school decided to do a *gasp* FUNDRAISER? Brings up nightmares just thinking about it. Most of my friends and I wanted nothing do with it, but then the blessed school dangled prize incentives in front of us. Like that dazzling golden locket that I just HAD to have.

So yeah, I went out every day, begging my neighbors to buy overpriced chocolate that tasted just a little bit funky. And when I finally got a neighbor to feel sorry for me and buy one, I’d reach into my little cardboard box and pull out...goop! Dang California sun had melted all my merchandise! Like I said—nightmares.

Well, it’s another generation, and luckily, the powers that be have found another, better way to hold fundraisers that won’t have kids in therapy 20 years later (mine says I’m making great progress, by the way).

So how does the whole coupons on cellphone thing work?

A lot of new members do not fully understand how to use the coupons. Here is an explenation:

The concept is very simple, members receive coupon text messages to their cellphones.

The coupon text will describe the special value of the coupon as well as the date until which the coupon in valid and the place/s where you can redeem the coupon.

For most cases, you will be able to use the coupon multiple times until it expires. But some coupons are only good for initiating an account or an introductory visit etc. so naturally members will be able to use these just once.

The process of using the coupons is also simple, just show up at the place of business and show the clerk / service provider your cellphone screen with the coupon clearly displayed. THATS IT, you will be granted a discount or a free product on the spot.

We realize that members may not want to keep a ton of coupons on their cellphone at all time. This issue is resolved via the member dashboard screen. When we start sending coupons to members, the MY COUPONS area of the dashboard will become active. The short display will show only the newest coupons that became available to the members but if the show-all button is pressed members will see the entire list of coupons that is available to them. Members will be able to resend coupons they have deleted from their phone but are still valid back to their phone. HOWEVER (this is a biggie, hence the CAPS) members will be paid only once per coupon so if they resend a coupon they already received in the past and deleted, they will not be paid again.

Members can forward the coupons to their non-member friends so that they can enjoy the discount themselves but only members will receive financial benefits from receiving coupons.

So yeah Ugotitfirst is an AWESOME company. Some of you may be agetting a little frustrated by the wait for advertisers. Remember we just launched last month..... were about to start advertising.

This kind of reminds me how it’s like getting all excited about Christmas, going shopping, wrapping presents, going caroling, putting up the tree, then...

...realizing that it’s only August! Sigh. (no wonder why the neighbors threw a shoe at me halfway through my rendition of Jungle Bells).

Back to my original thought. It’s hard to get all excited about this great startup company, refer all your friends (and even your in-laws), and then wait for your phone to buzz. Or jingle. Or whatever it does when you get a text message.

And wait...

Like all great businesses, Ugotitfirst wants to make sure it does it right. So while you’re working hard to build up your referrals, we're busting our butts making sure that we have plenty of ads to send you (and plenty of happy advertisers to continue sending ads for a long long time).

Hi guys!

I am so excited! We have launched about a month ago (we are still in Beta testing) and the response is GREAT! We already have several hundreds of members and the community is growing daily. The referral rates are through the roof and we really hope you guys continue referring friends so that not only your network grows but also your potential income when we start advertising.

The underlying principle of our business model is very simple: Why have advertisers pay everyone from the copywriter to the actors in the TV ad but not you, the real reason for advertising? I mean, if you are important for the advertiser, why not pay you for your time watching their ads?

So we decided to do something about it and established UGOTITFIRST.COM where we distribute roughly 80% of the funds we collect from advertisers back to YOU, our members. So every time you receive a text message with a coupon on it, you get paid. If you referred friends into the system and they receive a message (even if you did not receive the same message) you still get paid!

HOWEVER, we will not allow advertisers to SPAM you. You will only get messages that fit your profile. If you asked for coupons for restaurants and movies, you will not get any coupons that are not related to these areas of interest.
